It was a Fernhill Hotel wedding for Kevin and Emma at the lovely coastal port of Portpatrick. The sun was shining on what must have been the hottest day of the year so far. I headed over to Emma and Kevins house where the girls were just beginning their bridal preparations. The house was a hive of activity and preparations were already in full swing as I arrived. I spent just over an hour with the girls and took the opportunity to photograph some of the details before heading over to Fernhill Hotel to meet Kevin and the rest of the groomsmen.
I have photographed several weddings at Fernhill Hotel and it is always a pleasure. Set in private gardens above Portpatrick, Scotland, Fernhill Hotel commands stunning open views over the village, harbour and Irish Sea. Fernhill hotel offers a lovely bright and airy conservatory for wedding ceremonies and the adjacent banqueting room keeps everything nice and intimate. The grounds outside offer a great opportunity for some stunning wedding photographs.
Kevin and his groomsmen arrived around 30 minutes before the ceremony which provided an opportunity to take some photographs before the main event. Emma arrived right on time, in fact I think that she may have even been early 😉 We headed inside and Keivn and Emma exchanged rings and vows in a fabulous intimate ceremony.
Afterwards we took some group photographs of the respective families at the bride and grooms request prior to the wedding breakfast and several lively speeches. After some amazing locally sourced food the wedding party headed off to the reception venue at nearby Green Valley Golf Academy. This provided another excellent opportunity to get some lovely photographs of Kevin and Emma within the grounds of the golf club.
All in all it was a beautiful and romantic day, everything was perfect including the weather, Emma was a stunning bride and Kevin the perfect groom and together a really lovely couple. Here is a sample of their day…
