Shona and Rob had planned a beautiful Lochinch Castle Wedding. Lochinch Castle, in Castle Kennedy which is part of Stair Estates and is a stunning wedding venue.
The day started off as any good wedding should with lovely weather and the bridal preparations at the family farmhouse at Glenluce, Wigtownshire. I arrived in plenty of time to be able to obtain the important detail shots of the dress and shoes, jewellery, flowers and gifts that Shona and Rob had bought for the flowergirls and bridesmaids. This then allowed me to concentrate on getting photographs of the hair and makeup and also the laughs and giggles that were shared between the bridesmaids.
The sun was still shining as I left the bride and headed onto the wedding ceremony venue at Lochinch castle in order to catchup with the groom Rob and the best man. On arrival I had a quick look around at the fantastic coach house that had been decorated for the wedding ceremony. We were able to get some nice shots of Rob and his best man, just in time for the arrival of the bride, there was no way that Shona was going to be late 😉
After a lovely ceremony we were able to take advantage of the magnificent ground that are available at Lochinch castle and we photographed the formal group photographs as well as several of the entire wedding party. Having a wedding at Lochinch castle also means that there is access to have the portraits of the bride and groom taken in the beautifully landscaped grounds of adjacent Castle Kennedy Gardens. After the portraits we headed over to the reception venue at the North West Castle Hotel in Stranraer for a champagne reception and the all important speeches.
After the delicious meal it was over to Rob and Shona to start the dancing and to get the party going and a fantastic night started.
