Kirsty and Callum had their wedding at Monigaff Parish Church in Newton Stewart and held their wedding reception at Threave Gardens in Castle Douglas. I started off the day at Kirsty’s family farm near Newton Stewart to capture some informal photographs of the bridal preparations. Everyone was in great spirits and we had a lovely morning having some fun and enjoying the occasion.
I met Callum, the best man and the groomsmen at the church a short while before the ceremony which allowed me to capture some of the moments of the guys relaxing and having some fun in the sunshine before we turned our attention to the arrival of the bride. After a lovely service we took some time to get some shots of the bride and groom at the church before jumping into our cars and heading to the reception venue at Threave Gardens in Castle Douglas.
It is no exaggeration when I say that Kirsty and Callum offically had the ‘hottest’ wedding ever! The weather was on our side and the sun was absolutely scorching. Kirsty and Callum had thought of everything though and the guest were treated to a champagne and delicious ice cream reception with local Cream of Galloway ice cream.
Threave Gardens in Castle Douglas is a fantastic venue for a wedding reception, 25 hectares of landscaped gardens means that there are so many opportunities for beautiful wedding photographs and also lots of space to accommodate the wedding party.
It was a beautiful and memorable day and my first wedding at Threave Gardens and one that I was privileged to be invited to photograph. Here is a small selection of the wedding photographs and special moments of their day.
