I was delighted to be asked to provide the wedding photography for Ruth-Anne and James’s wedding in Stranraer. They were married at Stranraer Reformed Presbyterian Church and had their wedding breakfast at Ruth Anne’s parents house and evening reception at the Railway Inn also in Stranraer.
The morning started early with the bridal preparations taking place in Bella Essie in the town. Ruth-Anne was in great spirits and was enjoying the pampering and very excited about the day ahead. The groom, James, is a local bus driver with Stagecoach and had spent the last 12 months as a labour of love restoring a classic bus which was to provide the main wedding transport for the wedding party throughout the day.
After a lovely ceremony the wedding party and all of the guests boarded the bus and we headed off to a local beauty spot to get the group photographs. Unfortunately on this occasion it appears that we forgot to book the sunshine and cancel the rain, and boy did it rain. The weather didn’t spoil things however, we were ready for it. We managed to dodge some showers to get the group photographs completed. Ruth-Anne, seven months pregnant then donned her wellington boots, grabbed an umbrella and we headed off to get some lovely romantic photos in the worst that Scotland could throw our way. And we managed to get some very romantic photographs.
After an amazing wedding breakfast at the house, we then moved on to the Railway Inn where the drinks flowed and the dancing never stopped. All in all a magical day and one which I was delighted to be a part of. Their day is the reason that I love wedding photography. Here is a small selection of photographs from their special day.
