Hi! I’m Dan and I’m a relaxed wedding photographer in the epic region of Dumfries and Galloway, but I shoot weddings all over the UK and family portraits closer to home.
I live in a quiet village with my wife, two boys, two dogs and three horses.
My favourite things in the world are TV box sets (especially the Vampire Diaries, Vikings or Breaking Bad) and a Costa Americano, and when I’m not shooting weddings you’ll find me walking the dogs in the countryside or attempting to fly fish (I am a conservationist, I don’t catch much).
I couldn’t live without my friends and family, good food and good books. I spend a lot of time outdoors and nothing makes me happier than meeting new people.
My love of people is what inspired me to become a wedding photographer. I’ve been a wedding photographer for nearly 14 years and I can’t imagine doing anything else. I’m proud to say that my work has been published in books and magazines and that I have won a bunch of awards, but in case you’re wondering, I have never photographed anyone famous, except Robbie Williams when he was on stage and I was in the audience – and it was on my smartphone so this probably doesn’t count.
The best thing about my job is that I get to take photographs of people who love each other and share a day with people who are having a great time.
My couples value good photography, and the last thing they want is a photographer who is super cheesy or one that doesn’t do a great job.
My wedding photography style is relaxed and natural. I capture all the wonderful and special moments, and let you get on with having an awesome time. For me the bit I love the most about a wedding day is the portrait session of the bride and groom, because it’s a chance for you to have a breather and for me to be creative.
Your wedding is all about marrying your best friend. You don’t care about worrying about the little things that don’t matter – you just want to have an amazing time with your friends and family.
If this sounds like you, and you reckon that we’d get on then get in touch!
