Knockbrex Castle is close to the beach at Knockbrex bay at Borgue near Kircudbright. It is a beautiful building and provided the perfect backdrop to Nic & Petr’s wedding ceremony and reception. The castle was built around the year 1900 and certainly looks the part and is a great venue for a wedding. The castle has some wonderful bedrooms, snooker room, turrets and a fantastic dining room and great hall. It’s like a fairytale and perfect for some romantic wedding photographs. The area around Borgue is very interesting as there are a few interesting buildings, lovely countryside and coastline.
Marriage ceremonies at Knockbrex Castle are usually held in the great hall inside the castle which makes a dramatic setting. The garden grounds outside can accommodate a modest marquee which could host the ceremony or a reception.
The day was one of Dumfries and Galloway’s finest, with enough sunshine but without being too hot or too bright. It was a fantastic day and an absolute pleasure to take the photographs, Nic was the without doubt the happiest and most smiley bride that I have photographed to date.
