I had the best day at Justine and Ian’s wedding at Orroland Lodge in Kirkcudbright. Orroland offers luxury self-catering accommodation and a venue and catering for small weddings for up to 30 guests. It is a wedding photographers dream, with magnificent sea views, lovely woodland walks and romantic water features. This provided Justine and Ian with an intimate ceremony in a spectacular coastal location. The weather for the big occasion was perfect with sunshine and lovely blue skies which is always a bonus for a winter wedding in Dumfries and Galloway.
We began with some informal photographs of the bride and groom separately making their wedding day preparations and relaxing with the groomsmen and the bridesmaids. The wedding ceremony took place in the early afternoon and was held inside in the drawing room which has a lovely outlook to the garden and the sea beyond. Afterwards we took the opportunity to take some more formal group photographs of family and friends which were taken on the cliff top balcony which overlooked the Solway Firth.
Orroland Estate provided plenty of opportunity for romantic locations to take photographs of the newly weds with some lovely scenery and backdrops. It was a pleasure to spend time in such lovely surroundings and made it such an easy job to capture some fantastic photographs of the couple.
It was such a pleasure to be a part of Justine and Ian’s wedding, here are a few highlights from their day…
